The DTA is a special line of funding designated to provide financial support (up to $1500) for graduate students presenting their work at professional conferences/meetings and exhibitions, or performing at concerts/festivals and other venues that enhance the national and international reputation of their department and the University. Awards are determined based on the quality of the applicant’s submitted information and the impact of their work, both within their field and academia. The DTA was established in 2011 and is co-funded by the Stony Brook Graduate School and the Stony Brook Graduate Student Organization.
This cycle (Spring 2022) the available funding for the DTA has been doubled due to the lack of conferences in the past year – it is a great time to apply!
