Hello graduate students!
We at the Graduate Student Organization (GSO) welcome you to a new academic year! The GSO is the student government organization here at Stony Brook, representing and advocating for your needs as a graduate student. We host many events for graduate students (free food and swag!) and also offer multiple funding opportunities for conferences, professional development activities, and recreational activities (gym memberships, concert tickets, etc.)!

If you are a graduate student employee paid under a TA, GA, or RA line, come to Druthers Coffee on Thursday 5-9 pm for our GSEU/RAU happy hour! You get your first drink free!

Welcome back to Stony Brook! Come join us for free food and drinks in the SAC and meet other graduate students outside your department!

GSO Graduate Student Orientation
Thursday, Sept. 1st, 6:00 – 9:30 pm, Union Ballroom
Come meet the new interim Dean of the Graduate School, Celia Marshik, and our Dean of Students, Ric McClendon! Meet other graduate students, and learn about how the GSO can fund you and your professional and recreational expenses!
The Graduate School’s PhD Career Ladder Program
Starts this week! There may still be spots open!
The Graduate School offers the PhD Career Ladder Program every fall, spring, and summer! It is a zero-credit GRD 510 course, open to all graduate students, led by fellow graduate students! PCLP starts its Fall career mentoring groups this week! This is an excellent opportunity for you to meet other graduate students and discuss and expand your career options, work on your resume, and learn to network with others!
